From 1 October FoodBank SA will be known as FoodForward SA. This name change is the result of the South African Reserve Bank advising that we may no longer use the word ‘bank’ in our company name.
To comply with this legal requirement, we have, in partnership with our ad agency J. Walter Thompson, gone through the process of developing a new name and look, while still reflecting our social purpose. This undertaking is very exciting!
Addressing the drastic food insecurity problem remains our core focus, and we are working with our 600 member Beneficiary Organisations that in turn feed over 175,000 people daily, to bring about the much needed social change. At least 85% of the Beneficiary Organisations we assist, undertake skills development, education, or remedial activities. Together, we are bringing about meaningful change.
Forward thinking, innovative, and always striving to improve and grow, our new name aims to imprint in the minds of those we humbly serve and partner, that we will always do our best in the fight against hunger. Our mission is to deliver hope to the hungry and, thanks to our generous donors, we are able to continue our social purpose.
