McCain Foods helps FoodForward SA fight hunger

Thanks to the generosity of one of SA’s leading food brands, FoodForward SA can feed more of the most vulnerable people in South Africa.

As an organisation that connects a world of waste to a world of need by recovering surplus food, FoodForward SA depends on partnerships with powerful brands to provide millions of meals to hungry South Africans.

Powerful partnership with a purpose

McCain South Africa is widely-known for providing delicious, nutritious, cost-effective and convenient frozen potato and vegetable solutions to South Africans at home.

It’s recent donation of 22 102 tons of food to FoodForward SA has allowed us to facilitate the provision of over 88 000 meals to people in need.

“We strive to ‘Be Good and Do Good’,” says Deolinda Da Costa, Marketing Manager at McCain Foods South Africa. “We believe that food brings so much joy to everyone and we wanted to share our delicious products with those who need it the most. We were delighted to be able to help young children and the elderly with these food donations.”

The food donated by McCain Foods is distributed to disadvantaged South Africans around the country. The aim is to enrich these individuals’ lives as well as decrease the poverty rate in South Africa. Over 600 NPOs receive assistance from FoodForward SA, the majority of which are crèches, shelters, home-based care and aged care facilities.

FoodForward SA’s Food Sourcing Manager, Wayne du Plessis says that he looks forward to the relationship between McCain and FoodForward SA growing from strength to strength.

We would like to thank McCain Foods for making it possible for us to continue our vision of reducing hunger in a cost-effective manner, for all.
