This year FoodForward SA is an official charity partner to the Two Oceans Marathon Initiative (TOMI).
The Two Oceans Marathon Initiative (TOMI) was launched ahead of the 2012 marathon as a fundraising initiative. Last year they raised over R4 million in support of organisations that bring about positive and lasting social change under the Two Oceans’ four social impact pillars: Education, Environment, Health and Athletics Development.
In 2019 Africa’s biggest and most beautiful running event turns 50 and they want to make history by surpassing the R5 million mark for charity.
Here’s how you can help to leave a lasting footprint for social change
If you’re running the Two Oceans marathon or half marathon this year, why not do it as a fundraiser? It’s easy to set up, and it’s a great way to rally your friends and family around a cause you care about.
That’s exactly what Nadia Mulder is doing. She is a 3rd year dietetics student at Stellenbosch University who heard about FoodForward SA in a Community Nutrition lecture. She reached out to us to find out how she could raise funds for us through her participation in the Two Oceans half marathon this year and our team worked with her to help get her campaign set up on GivenGain. Nadia has set the goal to raise R2,500 for FoodForward SA. Help her reach her target by donating or sharing with your networks.
The 50th Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon takes place on Saturday, 20 April 2019 in Cape Town.
