On 16 October, the world will come together to mark World Food Day under the theme Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future. This year is especially significant as the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) celebrates its 80th anniversary. The theme is a powerful reminder that when we join forces, we can achieve far more than we could alone.
At FoodForward SA, we know that partnerships create possibilities. That’s why we’re inviting corporates to stand alongside us by hosting on-site food packing events in the lead-up to World Food Day. These events are a chance for your teams to roll up their sleeves, work together, and pack nutritious meals that will be donated directly to vulnerable communities through our national beneficiary network.
It’s about more than filling boxes – it’s about building a culture of collaboration and showing that, hand in hand, we can shape a future where everyone has access to safe, nutritious food. By hosting a company-wide food drive and packing event, you’ll not only be helping us reach our meal-packing targets but also fostering teamwork, pride, and purpose among your employees.

What can you donate? Non-perishable items like rice, oats, maize meal, pasta, beans, lentils, pilchards, tuna, peanut butter, and cooking oil are always needed. Just be sure that all food items are within their expiration dates and free of damage.
Every contribution matters. Together, we can make World Food Day 2025 a celebration of the collective power of partnerships – joining hands for a food secure future.
