MIT and the University of Stellenbosch partner with FoodForward SA

Dr Chris Mejia Argueta, research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Transportation and Logistics and Professor Sara Grobbelaar from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Stellenbosch University, are carefully designing and leading collaborative research projects which aim to add value to FoodForward SA’s operations.

By drawing on FoodForward SA’s available datasets and harnessing the expertise of top scientists and postgraduate students, this research will provide an evidence base for, among others, an impact evaluation of FoodForward SA’s programmes, efficiency improvements, strategic and tactical planning to expand our key programmes and recommendation on how to further develop our logistics and supply chain capabilities to shape our future programmes.

FoodForward SA looks forward to working with these eminent scientists and their research groups which will provide opportunities for research and student training, while also enhancing our capacity and fostering further innovation of our programmes.
