KZN Flood Disaster Relief: Bringing Hope to Newcastle

When disaster strikes, each affected community has its own challenges and needs. Our operations manager, Khamil Hiraman, and our beneficiary organisation manager, Zanele Stimela, travelled to Kwa-Zulu Natal to oversee our disaster relief efforts in the province.

As many of the people impacted by the floods are from rural areas with limited spaces that can offer temporary accommodation, FoodForward SA pre-packed food parcels containing a variety of food items that were delivered to their doors.

“The impact of the floods is clearly still evident. Homes and possessions are either damaged or lost and some people are either living with family or friends and others are still living in their damaged homes in terrible conditions. The beneficiaries would like us to share their gratitude to everyone who made food accessible to them,” says Hiraman.

Thank you, to all our donors who are contributing to our flood disaster relief efforts in Kwa-Zulu Natal as well as the Eastern Cape and for helping us offer a glimmer of hope to so many who might feel hopeless.
