Smollan Group adopts beneficiary organisations for a twelve-month period.

Smollan began as a family business and continues to reflect the culture of family through its people. They have been part of the FoodForward SA family for several years and continue to focus on strengthening communities. With the aim of transforming business through purpose, Smollan has strengthened our efforts in supporting flood-affected communities during the recent devastating KZN floods.

In addition, Smollan Group has shown an interest in adopting 12 beneficiary organisations within FoodForward SA’s network for a twelve-month period by committing to sponsor some of our beneficiary organisation’s (BOs) membership fees.

FoodForward SA’s beneficiary organisations pay a nominal monthly membership fee, which contributes towards the operational costs of the recovery, sorting, storage, and distribution of surplus food. The fee is determined by the size of a beneficiary organisation in relation to four categories; small, medium, large, and umbrella.

“The incredible work that FoodForward SA does has a profound impact on the lives of thousands of families and communities every day. We are extremely proud to partner with them to make a difference.” says Jayshree Gopaldas – People Executive Africa at Smollan.

Smollan Group’s sponsorship concentrates on disability care and aged care facilities in the Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the North West benefitting over 1,000 beneficiaries, ensuring they are provided with nutritious wholesome meals every day.
