PEP focuses on the education of food insecurity through supporting FoodForward SA

In an appeal to assist with our vision of a South Africa without hunger, PEP decided to get involved with supporting food security to ensure that they have outreach to communities in need. From previously only being involved in education PEP realised that food insecurity has become a challenge for many South Africans after the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and is broadening their CSI on the education of food insecurity.

Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Suzanne Coetzee, Communication & CSI Practitioner at PEP visit our warehouse in Cape Town. We shared some insights into our foodbanking operations and explored the process of a number of our programmes. Thank you to PEP for making our work and goals attainable. Through your continued involvement and support, we can reach more vulnerable communities across South Africa.

“As a retailer with heart, we love to give back. We believe in giving back to the communities that we serve in ways that have a positive effect on both the communities in which we operate, as well as the environment.

PEP understands the importance of education and remains committed to finding new ways of encouraging learning, giving hope and making a positive impact. Our efforts are always underpinned by PEP’s purpose of making it possible for everyone to look and feel good.

We are pleased to be able to offer our support to Food Forward SA and the great work that they do.” Anita Carollisen, Chief Executive: People Support at PEP.
