KZN flood relief efforts continue

While a few of the displaced victims have managed to find alternative shelter, and the KZN government has commenced constructing temporary housing structures for displaced people in affected areas, thousands remain destitute, facing the challenge of living in crowded community halls for a lot longer than imagined.

Our Durban team has been working tirelessly, preparing weekly food provisions for our beneficiary organisations, ensuring that the most vulnerable are receiving a warm meal seven days a week. Careful logistical planning and co-ordination is required, including the support of member beneficiary organisations and, third party logistics, to ensure that warm meals are prepared and served.

Every day we provide a warm cooked meal and a fruit to nearly 5,000 people living in 29 community halls, in areas such as Ntuzuma, Phoenix, Umlazi, Inanda, Tongaat, Waterloo and Pinetown.

It is evident that for at least the next few months, thousands of displaced people in KZN will continue to rely on us for our support.

A huge thank you to the generosity of our caring donors and partners. Your support enables us to continue to support the flood victims.
