KZN Flood Relief Update

Six weeks after the ravaging floods in KwaZulu-Natal, another spell of heavy rains hit the North, South and Western regions of eThekwini. This resulted in more infrastructural damage, residents having to evacuate their homes from low-lying areas, and displaced people crowding into community halls.

FoodForward SA is committed to ensuring that we continue to support as many displaced people with access to nutritious food and hygiene products. On a weekly basis, we provide our beneficiary organsiations with perishable and non-perishable groceries which include  maize meal, rice, pasta, oil, tin fish, tin foods, condiments, flour, fruits and vegetables to provide nutritious cooked meals. The cooked meals are served daily in community halls based in Tongaat, Phoenix, Waterloo, KwaMashu, Ntuzuma, Inanda, Umlazi, Molweni and Pinetown.

Thank you to our generous donors and partners – Massmart, Tiger Brands, Pick n Pay, Feed the Nation Foundation, Food Lovers Market, Pepsico, Lactalis SA, RCL Foods, The Do More Foundation, Kellogg’s, Coca Cola Peninsula Beverages, Montagu Foods, Tin Stuf, Standard Bank, HelloChoice, Premier FMCG, FNB, Chep, Fortress Reit, Coronation, Smollan, General Electric Foundation, Astron Energy, Industrial Development Corporation of SA, Bloomberg, SA Home loans, RSM SA, Hortgro, the Global Foodbanking Network, Investec, and Sage Foundation for committing to support our relief efforts.
