FOODFORWARD SA’S INTERNSHIP HELPS ADDRESS YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT

We are delighted to announce that from our 2021 intake of Supply Chain Youth Internship, 12 out of 13 interns successfully completed the six-month TETA-accredited programme. This intake incorporated cohorts four, five and six, who received their training at our Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban branches, respectively. Eleven of the interns also successfully completed their forklifted licenses. We are also proud to announce that we have absorbed six interns into permanent positions, where they will be fulfilling various roles in our Operations Department. We wish these young women and men well as they commence their working careers at FoodForward SA!

Since the launch of the Supply Chain Youth Internship in May 2019, we have trained 29 interns and have permanently employed 13. We are grateful to our donors, in particular, Woolworths and the Industrial Development Co-operation, for helping us provide decent work opportunities for our youth.
