Thank You, September Fundraising Partners

Fundraising initiatives are critical to our efforts. Apart from the much-need donations it provides us with, it also inspires us when people from all walks of life come together to work towards a common goal.

We would like to thank the following organisations which recently held fundraising events and selected FFSA as their beneficiary charity.

Standard Bank 100 Mile Charity Walk

After walking 41,100 km, a little over the circumference of the earth, 836 walkers from across the globe managed to raise R100,000 to help FFSA address hunger. We thank each individual and team who participated in the Standard Bank SA Virtual 100-Mile Charity Walkathon. Your determination inspires us to go the distance!

Denny Mushrooms Winter Add Goodness Initiative

Denny Mushrooms is all about adding goodness to meals! Through their Winter Add Goodness Initiative, they raised R20,000 towards FFSA’s hunger relief efforts.

Denny Mushrooms have also donated 1 ton of delicious, fresh mushrooms to FoodForward SA to become one of our newest food donors. Mushrooms provide such a wonderful, nutritious addition to the hampers we provide our beneficiary organisations. Thank you, Denny Mushrooms!

Danone Share the Good Campaign

Danoners (Danone staff who donate) donated over 5,3 million servings of yoghurt and maas during the challenging winter lockdown period, with the help of partners like FFSA.

In addition to this amazing effort, Danoners also participated in the Danone Share the Good Campaign. As part of their annual Mandela Day activation, Danoners were invited to pledge and donate from their own pockets to feed underprivileged South Africans. From June to August they participated in a monthly donation initiative and have raised a total amount of R26,000.

Says Danone’s Gisela Kruger, “This is a significant show of solidarity as these monetary donations were made by Danoners themselves – sharing the good is a drive entrenched in each of us!”
