Nedbank Boosts Second Harvest Programme

In line with their focus on the agricultural sector, Nedbank’s donation of R1 million to FoodForward SA will be allocated to further develop FoodForward SA’s Second Harvest programme.

With about 50% of all South Africa’s agricultural produce going to waste, the Second Harvest programme was established in 2018 as an outreach programme to commercial farmers, enabling them to donate post-harvest agricultural surplus produce directly from the farm. The Second Harvest programme has drastically improved the nutritional value of the food recovered, and significantly increased volumes, thereby increasing the number of people FoodForward SA is able to reach.
