Feature Story: Turfhall Cheshire Home – Lansdowne

FoodForward SA recently paid a visit to one of our beneficiary organisations in the Western Cape, Turfhall Cheshire Home in Lansdowne, to see how the impact of our food support is making a difference.

The organisation provides residential care and accommodation for approximately 62 profoundly disabled adults from all across the Western Cape. Turfhall Cheshire Home provides a perfect platform for disabled adults to live as independently as their disabilities allow with assistance always available, should they require.

We spoke to Ethel Tlabi, a Board Member of Turfhall Cheshire Home, who incidentally is a resident at the home. She also serves as the chairwoman of the residents and as the activities manager at the home. She explains that FoodForward SA has made a remarkable impact on Turfhall Cheshire Home as they supply the home with a generous grocery hamper once a month and ensures that our FoodShare programme is efficiently facilitated with local retailers close to Turfhall Cheshire Home.

Ethel says: FoodForward SA is amazing and a great help to the home. On behalf of the residents, I would like to thank you for the generous contributions that you make to us and we really appreciate the effort by FoodForward SA. Keep up the good work in reaching out to the poor and needy, and all the BO’s registered with FoodForward SA.”
