Global Foodbanking Network hosts Food Bank Leadership Institute in London

This week FoodForward SA’s Managing Director, Andy Du Plessis will be attending the Food Bank Leadership Institute in London.  The annual Food Bank Leadership Institute (FBLI) is attended by 150 food bankers from more than 50 countries.  FBLI attracts not only food bankers, but corporate partners and thought leaders from across the globe to discuss the unique challenges facing the sector as they work to meet the needs of food insecure populations, while reducing food waste globally.

This year’s theme is One Network. Toward Zero Hunger and will cover the following topics:

• How food banks contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• How food banks can be a valuable partner in the food industry’s zero waste initiatives
• Strategic planning and positioning for food banks
• The role of government in affecting policy changes
• The role of technology in helping food banks become more efficient and expand their reach
