First Choice and FoodForward SA #move4goodness

First Choice has partnered with FoodForward SA to distribute donated dairy products to selected organisations that assist the less fortunate.

Following their momentous achievement of raising the first R30, 000 of the intended R120, 000 worth of dairy products, First Choice is set to donate to the less fortunate through its #move4goodness initiative.

Woodlands Dairy and First Choice’s belief in spreading the greater good for people and the planet, and producing high-quality products that consumers will love has contributed to the initiative, which will see donated dairy products being distributed to selected organisations in need. One of the first beneficiaries is based in Bethelsdorp, Eastern Cape.

“The first donation is being distributed to a number of communities in the Eastern Cape, the home of First Choice,” remarks Woodlands Dairy, general manager of sales and marketing, Tinus Pretorius. “Subsequent donations will extend further, to developing communities identified across South Africa.”

The Angel Network feeding scheme provides food to less fortunate people in the northern areas of Port Elizabeth. “We will divide the donated food amongst approximately 200 children in the Bethelsdorp area, and the residents of the Bethelsdorp Old Age Home,” says Rosemary Roussouw from the Angel Network.

“Dairy is a great source of calcium, phosphorous, magnesium and protein which are all essential for healthy bone growth and development, and vital for the young and old,” she adds.

Get involved and #move4goodness

In a bid to raise R120, 000 worth of dairy product donations, the #move4goodness initiative calls on South Africans to do a dance, a shimmy, a shake, a twerk, any kind of movement and share their video or picture using the hashtag #move4goodness and tagging @firstchoiceSA. Each upload is worth R100, so get involved and help First Choice and FoodForward SA raise a further R90, 000.
