RCL FOODS continues to fight hunger across the country

FoodForward SA would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to RCL FOODS for the company’s ongoing contribution to feeding hungry South Africans.

RCL FOODS (producer of over 20 much loved brands such as Rainbow Chicken, Ouma Rusks, Nola Mayoanaise, Yum Yum and many more) remains one of FoodForward SA’s main supporters, and the much-loved chicken provider isn’t holding back when it comes to helping the needy and feeding the hungry.

Nearly ‘200 tons’ donated

RCL FOODS contributes tremendously towards the long-term sustainability of FoodForward SA. Last year, they generously donated more than 183 tons of food.

Food items that are donated to FoodForward SA from RCL FOODS is distributed to disadvantaged South Africans around the country. The aim is to enrich these individuals’ lives as well as decrease the poverty rate in South Africa.

The non-profit organisation would like to convey its appreciation for RCL FOODS’ support in the past and its ongoing backing to keep hunger at bay amongst South Africa’s vulnerable and food-insecure citizens.

A far and wide reach

RCL FOODS’ contributions to Food Forward SA serves more than a single home or facility. Last year, hungry South Africans enjoyed access to RCL FOODS’ provisions around the country. The following tonnages were received:

  • RCL FOODS Rustenburg: 65 tons
  • RCL FOODS Gauteng: 59 tons
  • RCL FOODS Durban: 39 tons
  • RCL FOODS Western Cape: 12 tons
  • RCL FOODS Bloemfontein: 8 tons
  • RCL FOODS Eastern Cape: 1 ton

RCL FOODS is one of South Africa’s largest and most successful food producers. The company’s history spans over 120 years, in which they’ve already contributed positively to society. The company’s ongoing contributions are ensuring a brighter South Africa for the next generation.
