Show your heart for hunger relief by donating food to FoodForward SA’s Valentine’s Day Food Drive.
Valentine’s Day is a day of showing generosity and love for others, so this year celebrate with a food drive. Help us ensure those less fortunate have nutritious meals by giving the gift of food.
FoodForward SA currently provides quality rescued food to 600 non-profit beneficiary organisations, who in turn serve over 250 000 people throughout South Africa.
FoodForward SA aims to raise tons of food, through encouraging individuals, companies, churches and school to collect non-perishable food items which will be distributed to orphanages, old aged homes, homes for the disabled, shelters for abused women and children and youth development centres.
The most needed food items are:
- rice, maize meal, cereal, samp and pasta
- dried beans, lentils, tinned fish, soya mince and milk powder
- jam, peanut butter and canned mix vegetables
- cooking oil, salt and sugar
Those unable to hold a food drive can make a donation. For as little as R35, FoodForward SA is able to feed a person for a month, and with R400, provide meals for a year.
Contact us on 021 531 5670 or Ashleigh@foodforwardsa.org if you would like to hold a food drive.
