FoodForward SA extends thanks Murray & Roberts for its support

Construction specialists Murray & Roberts recently sponsored the Look Forward Creativity Centre & Child Haven.

The Look Forward Creativity Centre & Child Haven, based in South Hills, Johannesburg, was established in 2007 to provide quality care, education, counselling and support to abandoned, orphaned and neglected children. These children come from the street or live in squatter camps where conditions are dismal. The centre currently caters for 40 children and thanks to its partnership with FoodForward SA, it is able to feed these children three meals a day every day of the week. Murray & Roberts has now come on board to assist FoodForward SA in delivering nutrition solutions to the organisation.

Not only does the centre feed these children, but it also covers their school fees, provides housing and clothing and offers medical assistance and counselling through an in-house clinic.

This remarkable organisation receives no government funding and works hard to sustain itself. The centre relies on fundraising events such as luncheons and golf days, often approaching individuals and churches for donations.

One of the biggest obstacles this organisation faces is paying the salaries of its employees. But, many of the employees are so passionate about helping and nurturing these vulnerable children that they volunteer their time.

FoodForward SA brought the centre to the attention of Murray & Roberts to request assistance with covering the costs of providing nutritious food to these vulnerable children, and Murray & Roberts came to the rescue with generous financial assistance. The construction company made a donation, which will ensure that this exceptional organisation is able to feed the 40 children for another full year.

Thank you to Murray & Roberts for your generous support and the positive impact on the lives of those who rely on the centre for support.
